Feb 5, 2012 Thrift Store Pickings

Postby Joe Ross » Sun Feb 05, 2012 5:03 pm

So here is the pickings I got for today.

First Store, A Goodwill store about 10 min drive away:

1. Fisher Price See n Say, Paid $2.98, worth $3.00 (bad judgement call, but ended up going to my youngest son)

2. Tiny Talk Minitaure Oil Lamp, paid 99 cents, and according to this site goantiques.com/detail,tiny-talk-minitaure,2352859.html it is worth $28. However I do not have the shade for it, so I must go find it, before I begin to list it.

Second store, a local thrift store close by the house:

1. 5 Children Books, paid 65 cents for each, got one of them for free. Listing them anywhere between $3 - $14 each. The books are:
Beetle Bailey in the Soup 1967
Walt Disney Mickey and Goofy's Race Around the World 1984
Ragedy Ann & Andy's Grow and Learn Library Vol 3 Sam Lamb Moves Away 1988
Curious George and the Hot Air Balloon 1998
Prairie Dawn's Upside-Down Poem & other nonsense from Sesame Street

2. Board game from 1980, Expedition, paid $1.98, listing for 15.99

3. Madeliene Collection Porcelain Doll, paid $9.98, figures I get anywhere from $30 - $60, currently listed for $60 at my booth, and starting at $35 on Ebay. Pictures for the doll below.

Figures, pictures to big, so not loading right, here is a link to where I have it listed on Ebay, ebay.com/itm/320843499621?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

oh forgot to add something, I almost had a heart attack today. Picked up this doll, errr, action figure. Looked like a GI Joe, the original ones. But it did not seem aged enough, but because I thought for a second I was holding a gold mine that I could walk out with for only $2. I quickly pulled the action figures pants down, (this would be so wrong if taken out of context, lol) and WHAT DO I SEE?? Well bet you guess by now it wasnt GI Joe, lol. It was Power Team. Oh well, went ahead and tossed it back. Could of made like 4 dollars off of it, but after having a panic attack from excitement, I didnt want to deal with it no more, lol.
